Church Staff
Reverend Syd Weedon
Rev. Weedon is a graduate of Bellarmine University and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has served as pastor in churches in Indiana, Colorado and Kentucky. He is married to Marian Kuhn Weedon and has two sons, Alex and Daniel. He is particularly fond of dogs, good food, photography, music and travel.
Rev. Weedon places great emphasis on biblical preaching, dynamic worship and pastoral care. Says Weedon, “Your greatest opportunity to reach the largest number of people is always the Sunday morning worship service. We want to make sure that, when people come to our services, they leave glad that they came.”
On his call to New Goshen Presbyterian Church, Weedon says, “It is a delight and a privilege to be called to share in the great ministry of this church. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. I am really excited about the possibilities this church holds.”
Linda Deibel: Church Secretary
Linda Deibel has been our Church Secretary since September 1991. She has over twenty years experience in church office management. As a member of Crestwood Christian Church, she has a working relationship with area churches.
Rhonda Hibdon: Director of Music and Youth Activities
Rhonda came to New Goshen as Director of Church Music in November 2006. In 2008 she added Director of Youth Ministries to her title. Rhonda has her B.A. in music with emphasis in organ from Judson College in Elgin, Illinois. She has served churches in the area as Music Director, Children's and Youth Minister. She also currently teaches K-2 music at the Highlands Latin School, private piano at the Calvin Academy of Music, and serves as an accompanist for the Louisville Youth Choir.
