| Now Is the time... Our Pastoral staff, Elders, Deacons, or anyone sitting in the pew next to you will be happy to show you how simple it can be to follow your heart! THIS IS THE PLACE ! Truly God has called us as believers to help others FIND the Lord, GROW in their faith, and SERVE one another as the Bible instructs.
OUR VISION THESE ARE THE T.I.M.E.S. WHEN NEW GOSHEN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IS WORSHIPING THE LORD BY TEACHING, INTERACTING, MINISTERING, EXALTING WITH, AND SENDING FORTH BELIEVERS IN THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. Purpose Psalm 31:14-15 14But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." 15My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. We understand that God is in control and working within God's time frame and master plan. The New Goshen Presbyterian Church is striving through organization, planning, and focus to live our lives the way God has commanded and to be purposeful in our servant role in the Church.

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT Matthew 22:36-39 "Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?" 37Jesus replied, "'you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
We focus on God's Love for us as an example of how to love others. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit as believers, focused on God's Word, obedient to God's charge, and thankful for God's Grace. T.I.M.E.S. reminds all of us how we can be faithful to Jesus' call to action as it is written: THE GREAT COMMISSION Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." |
Walk To Emmaus: Emmaus is a three day eccumenical Christian Retreat with the purpose of building church leaders. Men attend on one weekend and then the women attend two weeks later, there is an additional women's walk during the summer. The weekend is made up of 15 talks, 10 given by laity, and 5 given by clergy. There is lots of fun, great music, plenty of food and God's love is overflowing. Emmaus is not for everyone, but if you want to be pampered and taken care of, this weekend is for you. It is a time of great spiritual growth. No matter where you are in your walk with God, God will bless you in a way you have never experienced before. Couples are encouraged to go together, so you will be able to share the experience together.

The Residents Encounter Christ (R.E.C.)program is similar to the Walk to Emmaus, only the weekend is held in the local prisons. Here in Louisville there are 2 walks held at KCIW (Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women), 2 at Luther Luckett, and 2 at KSR (Kentucky State Reformatory) (both are men's prisons in LaGrange) and 2 at Roederer Correctional Facility. This is a very rewarding ministry and if you would like to become involved the only requirement is for you to attend the Walk to Emmaus and then volunteer to work the R.E.C. |
| OLDHAM COUNTY MINISTRIES ASSOCIATION-OCMA OCMA is a group of local churches working together to serve Oldham County spiritually, physically, and emotionally with Christ in the center. The contacts for the center are Janet Vance: 228-4843, Carol Hall: 222-8206, and Rynda Fredrickson: 228-1028. At this time they are working on "Elder Baskets" to go to elderly people who need to know that someone cares for them and that God cares for them. The baskets will be given out after Thanksgiving. If you would like to contribute to the baskets, they need the following items: large print magazines or books, house slippers with rubber soles, toiletries, music or books on tape, razors and aftershave lotion, crossword books or jigsaw puzzles, lap quilts, magnifying glasses, stamps, stationary or cards. The facility is always in need of food, infant and toddler clothing and furniture, cleaning supplies & household items. Adult clothing can be donated to the Agape shop in LaGrange and families will be given vouchers to get clothing.
